Amanda Graham, Founder, and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
Meet Amanda Graham
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and founder of Unbridled Way Forward
I help people find their way through hard emotional places by incorporating horses, nature, and mindful presence into mental health and wellbeing services.
For many of us, there comes a moment when life feels stuck, overwhelming, or uncertain—when something inside knows change is needed but the next step isn’t clear.
We provide powerful equine assisted services for individual adults and groups who are ready to go beyond problem solving and symptom relief. We create a safe place for people to find calm, clarity, and their authentic path.
Ways to Work With Us
A Safe Place for Reflection and Growth
Unbridled Way Forward was a vision before it was made a reality. Located north of Durham, NC, this private farm was purpose-built for therapeutic and experiential work with horses - creating an intentional, calm, and supportive environment for people to find the answers they seek.

Through this work, I found myself not only addressing my original fears but also exploring unexpected territory. Amanda creates a safe container for this deep work, allowing the natural wisdom of the horses to guide the healing process”.
- Sarah Yarborough, Unbridled Self Journey participant
We find our greatest strengths by facing our biggest fears.
Some of the worst experiences of my life have brought me to my knees.
Literally. I was overcome by feelings of hopelessness, failure, and fear.
Emotional pain is part of being human.
It was not until much later, when I got some distance and a different view, that I realized that these painful experiences were also profound, pivotal moments that changed my life forever.
Ease your pain and discover your courage, calm, and clarity.
With the quiet wisdom of horses, the power of nature, the stillness of mindful presence, and 20 years of experience, we walk with you on your journey.

Why Horses?
Horses are much like humans making them natural partners in this work. They are very curious and closely bonded to each other, with a complex social structure allowing each to feel safe and secure.
Unlike us, however, horses are prey animals. They are highly attuned to their environment and everything around them. They can read and respond to our very subtle non verbal communication, providing insights and other learning to us.
And, horses live in the present moment, in the here and now. Being in their presence quiets our busy minds, and brings us into our breath and our body, where change and transformation can take place.
At Unbridled Way Forward, all sessions with horses are done on the ground, at liberty in the pasture, with certified facilitators. Both horses and humans have choices about interactions, which allows everyone to feel safe.
